How Backgammon Games Are Played?
Backgammon games are not only old but it is quite a popular board game throughout the world. It is played between two people. There are playing pieces and a dice. The pieces are moved according to whatever numbers that come in the dice. The one who wins the game is able to move all the pieces in the board. There are now a number of variations of the backgammon game. The traits are more or less similar.
A whole lot of factors are involved in this game. Strategy is important. It is also important that in any backgammon board game the player is lucky. When the dice is rolled in any of the backgammon board games the player has to choose amongst a number of different options for moving his/her checkers. In the mean time they also have to anticipate the possible moved of opponent.
Backgammon games are popular like chess and there has been different research and studies. The software is able to beat even the most top class players. There are checkers within the board, which is also called stones, counters, chips, pawns, men and others. There are paths within the board through which the checkers move. The objective of the player is to try and move as many numbers of checkers out of board than his/her opponent. Since, the playing time is quite short, so it is often played as matches.
In each of the board there are 12 long triangles. These triangles are called points. The points are usually considered connected along an edge of the board. So, a continuous track forms in the form of a horseshoe, which is numbered from one to about 24. When a player begins, they have two checkers at the point of 24. There are three on the point of 8 and five checkers on the 13 as well as the 6 point. When the game begins, both the player has to start moving their checkers in the opposite direction.
In the backgammon games the points 1 through to the point 6 is called the home. Similarly the point 7 through to the point of 12 is regarded as the outer board. In fact, the point 7 is considered bar point and the point 13 as mid-point. Then the dice is rolled and according to the number the checkers are moved. For instance, if the players have number 6 and 3 over his/her dice then the player will move one of his/her checkers 6 places and the other 3 places. In case of doublets, like 5-5 players can move four separate checkers five spaces.
